Virtual Vacation: Denver, Colorado

Virtual Vacation: Denver, Colorado
By: Katy DeHaven

A few weeks ago we visited Baltimore, MD for our virtual vacation and I could not believe all that there was to see and do there. I found Denver to be much the same with tons and tons of attractions. I just picked out some highlights below, but for even more to explore check out this website.

Denver is known as The Mile High City, because its elevation is exactly 5,280 feet or 1 mile above sea level. Annually the city has 300 days of sunshine with a mild and dry climate. This outdoor city is known for its cultural attractions, craft breweries, music scene and world class dining. The city has one of the largest park systems in the country with more than 200 parks within the city.

Virtual Vacation: Barcelona, Spain

If you have read our last couple virtual vacations we have been checking out Spain. First we went to Madrid and then we traveled from Madrid to the Costa del Sol. Now we are going to hit one more city in Spain before we leave, and it is listed in the top 20 destinations worldwide according U.S. News and World Report. Coming in at number 11 is Barcelona! My husband and son spent a few days exploring this amazing city last summer. After hearing of their adventures, I was pretty jealous!

Virtual Vacation: Madrid to Costa del Sol

Madrid to Costa del Sol
By: Katy DeHaven

Last week for our virtual vacation we went to Madrid, Spain. I had mentioned that I did this trip my senior year of high school and we went from Madrid to the Costa del Sol. I thought for this week we could virtually take the rest of the trip. This itinerary was amazing and hands down one of my favorite trips ever.

If you are interested in doing a similar itinerary note my recommendations for length of stay in each city. To start I would recommend 4 days in Madrid before you start heading south.

Cancun All Inclusive: Now Emerald

Now Emerald is a family all inclusive resort on a great stretch of beach at the end of the Hotel Zone of Cancun closest to the airport. This used to be Oasis Sens. The Now brand has and continues to renovate the resort. I think the best parts of Now Emerald are the beach and the gorgeous steakhouse restaurant that overlooks the lagoon and sunset.

I filmed a sneak peek in March 2020 on a resort tour. Take a look:

Virtual Vacation: Madrid Spain

Virtual Vacation: Madrid, Spain
By Katy DeHaven

On our virtual vacation this week we are going International. I started studying Spanish in 7th grade and continued with it all through High School. My senior year I was fortunate enough to travel to Spain on a school sponsored trip. The trip started in Madrid and we toured south down to the Costa del Sol, spending time in Toledo, Seville, Cordoba before ending in Malaga. It was an amazing trip, and one of my favorite High School memories. I thought for this week’s virtual vacation we could check out Madrid.

Sandos Caracol Eco Resort Tour

Sandos Caracol Eco Resort is a family friendly all inclusive resort with an adults only section. This resort is great for nature lovers. Cenotes and mangroves run throughout the resort. Sandos Caracol Eco Resort also has a small set of Mayan ruins on site. The water slides and splash park are good for small and big kids. One thing that sets the resort apart is that the family rooms have a king bed and a set of bunk beds.

Take a peek at this tour I filmed in February 2020 on a resort tour:

Virtual Vacation: Baltimore, Maryland

Who knew there was so much to do in Baltimore?

I spent part of my youth growing up in Central Pennsylvania and my family would often take day trips to Baltimore and visit the Aquarium at the Inner Harbor or take in a baseball game at Camden Yards. When I started looking at Baltimore for our virtual vacation this week I couldn’t believe how much there is to see and do. Hey Mom and Dad, we missed…..A LOT!

Let’s take a look at some of what the city has to offer.

Estudio Playa Mujeres Resort

Estudio is small family all inclusive resort in the gated community of Playa Mujeres. It's connected to Atelier Playa Mujeres by the theater and fitness center. This is a great option for families who like to spend time together enjoying the pool or beach. The kids' club has a good science program including a 3D printer.

Take a peek at the resort. I filmed this in March 2020.
