Review: Secrets Aura Cozumel

In January, I had the chance to spend the day at Secrets Aura Cozumel. A client had previously been there in October - you can read her review here.

I agreed with her assessment. The resort is still under construction. It is also very spread out. We got lost a couple times trying to find the tennis courts and the different pools. The best pool is the preferred club pool right on the beach. This is a great perk for the preferred club members.

Swim up rooms that connect to the main pool
This resort really stood out to me for their rooms. They have great swim up rooms that connect to a larger pool. One set of rooms even have slides that take you down to the main pool and swim up bar.

As for the food, the breakfast buffet had recently been moved. We found it a little disorganized, but it did have several made to order options. For lunch, we liked that we could order at the Swim up bar at the pool and have the food brought to us. That was a huge benefit. We didn't have a chance to try the sit down restaurants since we were only on a day pass.
Overall, the resort was very quiet and a perfect base camp for exploring Cozumel. If enjoy reading by the pool or beach, then this resort is for you. You can easily walk down to the Carlos and Charlie's Beach Club if you decide you want a little more action. Cozumel has fantastic snorkeling and scuba diving.

Here's some photos from our stay at the resort:
