Go white water rafting at Mendenhall Lake! Spend an unforgetable morning or afternoon rafting with an experienced guide through the Tongass National Forest. Wildlife such as bald eagles, black bears and otters can often been seen along the river’s shore. No experience is necessary, there is a short stretch of Class II and Class III rapids. A snack and warm beverage are also included.  Mendenhall Glacier Float Trip is offered almost daily from late May through mid-October. 

Not for the faint of heart is this 8 hour active hiking and glacier trekking adventure at Mendenhall Glacier. After getting your hiking gear and receiving an orientation you will head out on a 4 mile guided hike to the glacier. During your hike enjoy spectacular mountain and glacier views. Once you arrive you will have about an hour to explore glacial features, moulins, crevasses, caves and much more before making the trek back. Minimum age is 10.  Mendenhall Glacier Trek is available from the beginning of May until the last week of September. A private tour is also available.*

Whale Watching by kayak! Board a six person motorboat and cruise over to the Channel Islands State Marine Park where you will land on a remote beach. Receive basic instruction from experienced guides before heading out across the sea in double kayaks. See humpback whales, orcas, sea lions, porpoises, seals and an array of bird species.
