San Juan is the capital and largest city of Puerto Rico,
located on the island’s northern coast along the Atlantic Ocean. It’s one of
the oldest European-established cities in the Americas, founded in 1521 by
Spanish colonists. Some Caribbean cruises start and end here and it’s also a
popular stop on many cruise line itineraries.
The city blends centuries of history with modern Caribbean culture. Its
historic district, Old San Juan, is known for colorful colonial buildings,
cobblestone streets, and major landmarks like Castillo San Felipe del Morro and
Castillo San Cristóbal—both part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
San Juan is a major cultural and economic hub. It has a strong tourism
industry, with beaches such as Condado Beach and Isla Verde Beach, plus a
lively arts, music, and food scene influenced by Spanish, African, and Taíno
heritage.
San Juan has two ports: Old San Juan has 4 piers and Pan American has two
piers. Cruise ships visiting for the day usually use the Old San Juan piers.
Cruise Ships embarking in San Juan often use the Pan American piers. We’ll let
you know you what you expect when you
