Virtual Vacations: Theme Park Rides

This week for our Virtual Vacations series we are going to check out some virtual theme park tours and virtual rides at some of our favorite parks including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios in Orlando, and Katy’s childhood favorite, Hersheypark in Hershey, PA.
The Visit Orlando official website offers virtual tours of the Walt Disney World Resort, Sea World, Universal Studios, and Legoland.

There is also a YouTube Channel called Virtual Disney World and it is dedicated to virtual experiences of mostly Disney theme park rides although you can also find some Universal Studios rides as well on the channel. You can click and drag to pan the camera in any direction or move your mobile device/ tablet to look around as the video plays. I will say this that the experience is much better for outdoor rides than the indoor ones. Take a look at Slinky Dog:

Did you know that in Hershey, Pennsylvania you can take a chocolate making tour and that there is an adjacent amusement park?

Click here for a virtual chocolate tour, here for Hersheypark, and here for the park roller coasters.

Here's a look at the Comet:

Have you ever been curious about Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN? This link is a great overview of the park. Take a look:

Cedarpoint in Sandusky, Ohio is known as a hotspot for roller coasters. The park has its own YouTube channel with some great virtual rides. Take a ride on Steel Vengeance:

Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA also has its own YouTube channel offering viewers front row point of view of many of the parks roller coasters. Check out the GhostRider Wooden Roller Coaster:
