Family Friendly Excursions in Seward, Alaska

Seward is a great location for a multi-day hotel stay at the start or end of your cruise. Here's two great family fun ideas.

Kenai Fjords Cruise- Enjoy a tour of Seward with time to shop, followed by a 55 mile round trip cruise with a Park Ranger. The ranger will point out some of Alaska’s wildlife including whales, sea otters, rookeries, and sea lions on the way to and from the glacier.

Duration: Around 7.5 hours

Exit Glacier Hike- Experience one of Alaska's few walk-in glaciers -- Exit Glacier. At the end of the road, follow a walking trail for 2½ miles through an alder forest, meeting the glacier's terminus (face) half way through your hike. The first half of the path is paved; the rest is gravel. Exit Glacier is three miles long and descends some 2,500 feet from the Harding Icefield. A naturalist guide will tell you all about the effects Exit and other glaciers have had on this area.

Duration: Around 4 hours
